μάρμαρομαϊμού

I started a series of drawings and paintings called Marmaro maimou (marble monkey)

I draw faux marble forms and effects in the shape of monkeys. The drawings will be installed in the manner of a fresco

thus creating different scenes.

The idea of this project comes from the observation of the frescoes of the archaeological museum of Heraklion in Crete where I am currently in residence. The word Maimou (monkey) in Greek is used to say that something is a imitation that I find interesting in co-relation

with my faux marble technique.

I also did a version painted on magnetic vinyl.

And 2 wall paintings, one in the south of Crete in Keratokambos

and another one on a wall facing the sea, of the Natural History Museum of Crete in Heraklion
